I’m Tony Todd, I have been practising acupuncture and moxibustion since 2000 and currently have clinics in central and south Croydon.
I also practises Chinese herbal medicine, shiatsu, and lecture at the International College of Oriental medicine.
I began practising acupuncture following completion of a 4 year course at the International College of Oriental Medicine (ICOM) in 2000.
Prior to which I had trained in shiatsu, joining the register of shiatsu practitioners in 1993 and undertaking further studies in tuina (Chinese massage) and acupuncture in Shanghai, China during 1993 and 1994.
Since graduating from ICOM in 2000 I have continued to study with leading teachers in the UK, Europe and Japan.
This has included training in Manaka style acupuncture as well as Japanese meridian therapy and Korean Hand Acupuncture. In 2003 I became a member of the European Branch of the Toyohari association. In 2005 undertook training in Kanpo (Japanese herbalism), followed by further studies in Chinese Herbal medicine, specialising in Shanghan Lun and Jin Gui Yao Lue with Arnaud Versluys and the Institute of Classics and East Asian Medicine [for whom I also teach]. In 2013-4 I completed studies in Internal and External acupuncture with Andrew Nugent-Head and the Association of Traditional Studies .
I am a part time lecturer and module co-ordinator at the International College of Oriental Medicine, East Grinstead, East Sussex. My working practice is influenced by a wide range of traditions that I have come into contact with, though my preference is in Japanese style channel based acupuncture, and Shanghan based herbal formulas. I also practise and teach chi gong and taichi.
